Running In Place

I finally received my "predeparture packet" from Ritsumeikan a few days ago. It was a real run around getting ahold of it, I ended up at the post office twice in one day. It was fairly informative, though, so I'm happy. I applied for housing, with my first two choices being the Ritsumeikan International Houses I & II, one of which I will hopefully get because the other options are more expensive with less amenities.

I also discovered that I didn't book my flight too well. I was worried about getting there too soon, but now I'm getting there right on time, which isn't so great for international travel. :P I leave March 30th in the morning and arrive March 31st in the early evening. I can check into my dorm then because it's a weekday, but the very next day orientation begins and the following day is the placement exam... Hopefully even if my time-traveling addled brain lands me in a low language bracket I can prove myself in class and be reassigned.

Oh, timing. Thou hast betrayed me a lot lately. Tomorrow (the day I lose my rental car) I have a job interview at 4 PM. I found out today that my friend Vincent's wedding has been moved up a week, making it impossible for me to be there, and since he and several other friends are graduating this coming semester (which I shall miss also, as I'll be in Japan) this was going to be my last time to see many of them for a long while, I imagine. Bachoo... :(

Life isn't all bad though, it just feels like the title of this post suggests, like I'm "running in place". With any luck time will fly and I'll be in Japan soon. In the mean time I just need to keep busy and enjoy my "summer" vacation, heh.

Hello!
I saw your comment on Kennedy's blog and thus found yours. I am loving everyone keeping blogs, now that everyone's FINALLY doing study abroad too! Geez. But now my own isn't the only blog to read ;)
